Lenscap and CleanShot X
Two native Mac capture tools with different release maturity and cloud models. The right choice depends on how much recording polish, hosted sharing, and local control you need.

CleanShot X is the more mature suite for advanced recording, hosted sharing, and team workflows. Lenscap is a narrower utility built around local capture, local history, on-device OCR, and an optional bring-your-own-cloud preview.

Choose based on the missing feature you would notice
Choose CleanShot X when microphone or webcam capture, a stronger video editor, managed cloud links, comments, transcription, branding, or team controls are part of the job. Choose to follow Lenscap when local history, a smaller capture workflow, no app telemetry, and maintaining your own optional cloud boundary matter more than those features.
